The Shakti Bliss

stillness during expansion 3

(Empowering, this realization: I am the creator of my experience.  Every fine detail of my life has been carefully selected by me for pleasure and growth along my journey.  There are no accidents here, and nothing is wasted.  All is of value.)

I am awake, as always, with the sunrise.  Today the energy is very, very high, and opportunities for expansion abound.  I spent much of this past week in ceremony, either solo or with dear friends.  Here’s an interesting tidbit I picked up from the Native American shaman who led a water blessing ceremony I attended: “Allow yourself time to be still during these times of tremendous expansion for Gaia and for all.  For ten days before and after the solstice, make no plans.  Just be present.”

These words had such a reverberation for me.  The last few months of this year I’ve had the pleasure of making…

When you’re out there, in nature, without any distraction you have to go with the flow of nature. You cannot defy Her rhythm with artificial light or something like heating. I realized I have to totally surrender…

Then you start to appreciate and notice little things like the growing light of moon in the evening sky…

When I was in college I took a class called “What is Religion?” Initially I brushed it off as a filler course, something I could snooze my way through. I wound up enthralled with the topics we discussed, and I can’t recall a class that impacted me more.

As the name indicates, we were attempting to define religion, and what we came up with was this: Religion is any means toward ultimate transformation. Given this definition, one can find religion via any number of routes, from the strictures of Roman Catholicism to the ecstasies of hallucinogens; even mind-blowing sex can be considered a kind of worship. What we bring our full attention to, what we immerse ourselves in, becomes our religion, our means of transcending stress and achieving bliss. A paleontologist might find his rapture digging for dinosaur bones; a painter becomes lost in her canvas; a rock star gets…

Mirth and Motivation

The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life. Robert Louis Stevenson

What inspires me to blog? This is my 4th Anniversary as a WordPress blogger and I’ve crossed a lot of bridges since that first day when I had the temerity to add my voice to the global conversation. I haven’t looked back even though I’ve had my share of major setbacks. What I’ve come to learn is that writing gives me hope, inspiration and joy, and infuses my spirit with a sense of gratitude and awe. So what exactly inspires me? Lots of things inspire me to blog…

One step at a time

I can’t sleep and what do I do when my eyes refuse to close?! Looking at thousand picture that I took along my journey, writing -almost about everything- and browsing. Well… some times I found something that can inform me about something, can make me even more awake 😀 or something that can challenge me like… I found this! A special photo challenge! Then I said to myself… why not! 🙂 Here you go, my first inspiration I got from our amazing mother nature -who else?-

Other than teaching me about something, nature is also giving me opportunity to shape my skill to see the world from another angle.  Before I didn’t pay too much attention with my surrounding but now… a smallest thing that you find in nature could draw my attention and believe me… there is always beauty in every single thing nature has to offer. May…

Ambling Around Brisbane

In Pursuit of the Image

We are at Boonah, a small town about 100 kilometres south west of Brisbane in an area they call the Scenic Rim.  And I’m out to try my hand at aerial photography.

This is one of those days when I think check lists are a good thing.  The pilot has one, I’ve got mine.
