“The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind.”

The subconscious mind of a person can have both good and evil. The evil gets attracted to the dark thoughts whenever it can find the chance to catch a person off-guard and can take control of a person’s mind. And also as we live our everyday lives and come into constant contact with others, we tend to be swayed by an incessant flow of thoughts, and it is difficult to guard your thoughts and to know the true self that lies deep within us. So how can you achieve a right state of mind to connect to your true self?

To attune your mind to a ‘righ’t state, you need to examine your state of mind as compared to more serene nature or the true self. When you reflect deeply on your own mind…

Qingyuan’s “Come Closer”

Zen Fools

Qingyuan’s “Come Closer”

Once a monastic asked Qingyuan, “What is the meaning of Bodhidharma’s coming from India?”
Qingyuan said, “It’s just like this!”
The monastic asked further, “What do you have to teach these days?”
Qingyuan said, “Come closer.”
The monastic moved closer.
Qingyuan said, “Keep this in mind.”

Student: “What is this that Qingyuan told the monastic to keep in mind?”
Master: “You should not keep it.”
Student: “Tell me what it is. How could I keep or not keep it when I don’t know what it is?”
Master: “Keep it.”

What can be kept is not it because it can’t be discarded.

Hour Glass appearanceLove is like an hourglass, with the heart filling up as the brain empties.   Jules Renard

The shadow from the lamp was such that it was resembling an Hour-glass, and
interestingly ,the appearance of the Hour-glass can be appreciated both horizontally

Is It Time?

Source of Inspiration

Is it time?
It is time.
There are no definite
all is theory
a bone well gnawed

I seem to have arrived
where whys what ifs
no longer matter
just now is enough

With this comes a peace
a knowing
that’s more than knowledge
a putting aside
of all the searching

Finally I am content.

C risis is an illusion
Only this moment is important
Now I can start living…free at last
T hankfulness sweetens life
E njoying the wonder of simplicity
N ot looking backwards or forward
T aking back my ability to think for myself

1000 Reasons To Be Grateful

Source of Inspiration

Yeaah, I am finally back after having total knee replacement surgery and a long stay in a rehabilitation facility. It is only fitting that I resume writing poems daily for you by adding to my gratitude list for surely I have much to be grateful for in having a successful surgery. Thank you all for your prayers and best wishes, pat

I am starting a gratitude list to help me remember this prayer: “Dear God, may we always be grateful.” I believe that gratitude is the key to serenity.

Truly gratitude is a transformer in our lives. The more I cultivate it, the more joy and serenity I find in my life. Please feel free to add to this list in the comment section…or start your own gratitude list.

Lightly Child, Lightly.

Live & Learn

Each second the earth is struck hard

by four and a half pounds of sunlight.

Each second.

Try to imagine that.

No wonder deep shade is what the soul longs for.

And not, as we always thought, the light.

~ Charles Wright, from “In Praise of Thomas Hardy,” A Short History of the Shadow: Poems
